Useful substances

GEOPROJET is involved in all phases of the construction of a mining project, from preliminary exploration to exploitation. The company ensures that permit holders and its clients receive project monitoring, analysis of mining works, periodic report preparation, execution of detailed geological and structural maps, proposal of exploitation and treatment methods, as well as processes for the valorization of ores. To meet the specific needs of each valorization unit, the firm also works on analyzing and improving manufacturing processes.

In supporting small-scale mining entrepreneurs, GEOPROJET has conducted studies and finalized projects related to the exploitation and valorization of useful substances. An example of success is the calcium carbonate deposit at Ouled Ali, which is currently being exploited by the company OMEYA (formerly SMJC: Société Maroco-Jordanienne de Carbonate).

The Ameskar carbonatite deposit, whose exploration works have revealed reserves of more than 16,000,000 tonnes, is the largest deposit in Morocco with high-quality mineralization. The exploitation area is located on a limestone plateau overlooking the village of Amskar. The main mineralized formation consists of a fault filling with secondary calcite. The primary fault extends over more than three kilometers and warrants further exploration of its lateral extension. The thickness of the main vein is 20 meters, while the satellite veins range from 1.5 to 6 meters in thickness.

The pyrophyllite deposit offers very favorable geological and mineralogical characteristics compared to conventional deposits known in Morocco. The geological context indicates the presence of an alteration zone of Precambrian III rhyolites from the Ouarzazate series, which, through successive alterations, has resulted in high-quality mineralization. The potential mineral resources are estimated at 1,000,000 tonnes.
